New Build Panasonic Multi-Split Heat Pump & Lossnay Ventilation Installation – Cambridge, Waikato

Heating, Cooling & Fresh Air Ventilation for a New Cambridge Home

Climate Systems 2017 Ltd is undertaking the pre-installation of heating, cooling and ventilation services for a new residential build in Cambridge, Waikato.

The project incorporates a Panasonic multi-split heat pump system alongside a Lossnay heat recovery ventilation system, providing an integrated approach to year-round indoor comfort and fresh air ventilation.

By planning and installing the required services during construction, we can conceal pipework, drainage and ventilation ducting within the building structure where practical, creating a cleaner finished installation.

Panasonic Multi-Split Heat Pump System

A multi-split heat pump system allows multiple indoor units to connect to a single compatible outdoor unit, providing heating and cooling to different areas of the home.

Benefits of a multi-split system include:

  • Heating and cooling for multiple rooms
  • Individual indoor unit temperature control
  • Reduced outdoor unit requirements compared with multiple single-split systems
  • Energy-efficient inverter technology
  • Neat installation with concealed refrigerant services where practical

The system is being prepared during the construction phase, allowing refrigerant pipework and associated services to be positioned before internal wall linings are installed.

Lossnay Heat Recovery Ventilation System

Alongside the air conditioning installation, the home will incorporate a Lossnay heat recovery ventilation system.

Unlike a standard extraction-only ventilation system, heat recovery ventilation introduces outdoor air while extracting stale indoor air, transferring a portion of the heat energy between the two airstreams.

Benefits include:

  • Continuous or controlled fresh air ventilation
  • Extraction of stale indoor air
  • Heat recovery to reduce ventilation-related heating and cooling losses
  • Improved indoor air quality
  • Support for managing indoor moisture when appropriately designed and operated

The ventilation ductwork and associated services are being coordinated with the new-build construction to achieve a practical and discreet installation.

Why Pre-Pipe a Heat Pump During Construction?

Installing heating and cooling services during the building stage offers several advantages.

Concealed Services

Refrigerant pipework, condensate drainage and associated services can be installed within suitable wall and ceiling cavities before linings are fitted.

Cleaner Finished Appearance

Early planning can reduce the need for exposed surface-mounted pipe capping and visible services.

Better Coordination With Other Trades

Working alongside builders, electricians and other contractors allows equipment positions and service routes to be planned before construction progresses.

Future Heating and Cooling Requirements

Planning the system early helps ensure the selected equipment and service provisions suit the home's intended layout and comfort requirements.
