The challenge
The owners loved the villa's character but couldn't live with the comfort. The lounge had an aging heat pump that worked overtime. The bedrooms were freezing. Every winter morning the windows ran with condensation, and mould was creeping back around the bathroom and bedroom frames despite repeated repaints.
What we did
We did a full home assessment and proposed a zoned approach: a properly sized lounge unit, a high-wall in the master bedroom, and a balanced positive-pressure ventilation system to deal with the moisture at its source. We worked carefully around the original ceiling roses and skirting boards to keep the villa's character intact.
The outcome
The home holds 21°C through winter without the heat pump running flat-out. Condensation is gone from the morning windows. The owners told us the master bedroom feels 'like a different house.'
